I've had some people ask me about the gear I used for my Livestream, while its pretty basic and not really anything too exciting I thought I'd share some of the specs that I had used to make it happen, and what ultimately is also my standard day to day PC set up is.

Camera

The camera is the same one that I use for my airsoft videos. A GoPro Hero 7 Black. Its a good camera with good quality, although I did have to lower the quality for the stream to be able to sync correctly and not be diabolical, but from my end at least the quality was still good enough.

Microphone

This is a very basic cheap microphone from Kmart, the Anko Professional Gaming Microphone, and even though it was only like $40ish its still pretty good for the price range. Most of the voice over stuff in videos was recorded using this too. 

Everis Tablet – E0117

This is an old, very old tablet. I think its around 8 or 9 years old. Its very basic and doesn't do anything very special. The only thing that I'm using this for is for when I need apps open while I work on my PC, like if I have something going on on Discord but am wanting the main PC being used for something that will take up a lot of the memory, for example editing videos. But for the Livestream, this tablet has acted as my Stream Deck, so that I can seamlessly switch between scenes on the live stream without the need to actually go back into different windows on the computer in order to do it. 

Lenovo Desktop Idea Center 

Paired with a Samsung gaming monitor this is the main workhorse for all my computing activities. This would be, in my opinion at least mid way between basic and advanced computers. It plays games really easily like GTAV, and does video calls etc with ease, even though its not really built for hard core kind of stuff, it does really well. 

Lenovo Laptop Idea Pad

Because I am a little weird, rather than running PC's with multiple screens, I run two computers instead. The laptop does all the low-end work while the Desktop does all the more intense work. For the Livestream it was used to monitor the stream and the chat section where I could use it to read and respond to comments and just generally keep an eye on the stream.

Streaming Software

OBS is the software that I used to make the stream happen over on YouTube. For those that didn't know in the technology world, OBS stands for Open Broadcaster Software. Its free open sourced software that is the middle man between your cameras, PC programs/screens and YouTube to make the action happen. I have found it to be really good to use and really, really easy. I thought it would be quite hard to get my head around it and figure it out, but even with limited research on how it all actually works it wasn't too hard to sort it out and get it going well.
