The decision to rebrand the channel, or shift the channel images to solely being all about Jay’s Airsoft came about after some events within my personal life. Just to note and be absolutely clear, this was in no way any disagreements or bad blood with CSG, this solely came from me and was one hundred

percent my own choice.

The very first intro was just a few captures I’ve got from previous games, a sample of music from one of my songs all put together and called an intro, at that point, the intent was to just share a few videos of airsoft to share the link with those that ask me about airsoft.

The second logo and branding I had done was more just to share the videos at first, took a snippet of one of the game days and called that the intro for a while. The first logo was very basic as the original idea of sharing the videos was to answer my friends' questions about what airsoft is and what it is like.

What I had found very early on was that I actually enjoyed making these videos, seeing some of the stuff I managed to do, or just reliving in some way some of the events I had attended - I had done a couple of vlog style videos by this point.

After a while though, having some things go on outside of airsoft that sort of played with the ole mental stability a little, I had seeked help.

Through these sessions as some of you will know, questions come up about the things you're going through and stuff like that. One question that did come up was what did I like doing? The obvious answer to that was playing airsoft, and that I happened to like making videos of it. This got a little conversation going about how I’m doing things for other people, helping out on the committee of my local club, how about instead of filling up life with everyone else's things, why not take one thing I enjoy doing and focus more energy on that to gain greater satisfaction from doing it?

That conversation really got me thinking, eventually I decided to step back from my clubs committee and dropped other things off my radar to focus more on me, do the things I wanted to do the most before putting everything else first.

With this train of thought and mind set, I thought “Wouldn’t it be good to do something like a rebrand or something? Something that makes the channel all about me, the focus is on me?”. I know that this sounds rather selfish but hopefully you’re following along with this one.

I knew the name “Jay’s Airsoft” would stay, it had some kind of ring to it that I liked (besides being my name!). I wanted a logo that was more me and what I use, so I went with something with an M4 and Glock on it.

The logo was the first thing to be recreated, it didn’t take too long to smash together an idea that I

really liked and would soon call my logo. I had tried making some others using AI just for the giggles of it - they looked kinda weird to be fair!

Next was going to be the intro, this was a little harder to think about. Because there is a lot of options you can go for when you're looking at an intro, I had watched some of the intros of other YouTubers (within the airsoft community) to see what they had to try and get some inspiration. None really gave me any though!

I was cruising through Canva website and came across a template and thought, hey that would be cool, so then found 3 different clips from places that I really enjoy playing, put them in and made it mine, I had a new intro.

Now it was time for the music for the intro, I really didn't want to just use the same string intro music that i had on the old one, so i decided to make something completely new that was more me, so picked up the guitar and found something weird on the pedal and found a little something that sounded cool, added some piano behind it and bam, a new intro was complete!

One other thing that has been happening beyond the rebranding, is looking at how to do more on the channel, so it's not just CSG games and Zone games, I’m currently working on a couple of series so keep an eye out to see if they become anything on the channel!

So there we have it, that's what was behind the rebranding of Jay’s Airsoft.
