Videos I'll Never Make

Please note, this is solely based on my opinion.

We see it everyday, content creators posting video after video. Most of them are good and just your general gameplay or events videos, which is all good. There are some really good content creators out there who create some really good videos and content. But then there's the other side, some of these creators, or some creators just post this kind of thing, are the videos that are all about shaming people. Like videos dedicated solely to cheaters, or people that get grumpy during games. 

Here's the reasons why you'd never see me create these videos.

Cheater Videos

For the most part, these videos are unnecessary. Yes there can be cheaters out there who consciously and purposefully cheat during games, but what does making a video solely based on that actually achieve? All it does is light up the comment section with people going off their rocket about a particular player, or a particular part of the video. 

I can understand how frustrating having a cheater can be, don't get me wrong. You're trying to play fair and complete missions/objectives while someone's just not calling hits, it'd piss me off too. But I wouldn't go as far as making an entire video that solely focuses on that person cheating. The most I'd do is maybe give it a brief highlight in the actual event or gamedays video with some encouragement to not cheat and play fair but that's the most of it. 

And another thing to point out, that is what the game marshals are for, have a chat with them with your concerns about a player and then move on and keep playing the game – afterall you're there to have fun and play airsoft right?

People Getting Angry Videos

I have literally never understood the appeal to making videos that just mock people for getting grumpy during games. Like yes, it can be unnecessary that they do, but in saying that, there could be a thousand different reasons they are getting grumpy that you just don't know about.

Now, I'm not saying that there's not a single person that doesn't get angry because they just have a short fuse, we all know there's people out there that are like that.

But, think about it. Do you know what's going on in that person's life that could have them a little on edge? They could have things going on that you couldn't even imagine what it's like to be going through and them coming out to play airsoft for the day is just their way of having some form of escape from the reality of life. 

Maybe next time, think about that before creating that video with some clickbait title about people being angry. 

Staged Content

A pet peeve of mine, those idiots that stage their content where they go and clear a room, or so some really fantastic move that appears like they've just wiped a squad or done something really good, but then when you look closely (or some are just that obvious you barely need to look), you can see its all staged and just looks fake. Like come on man, if you're going to make content, at least attempt to make it even seem half legit rather than fake shit with bad acting in it.

Vs Rental Players Videos

These are just click-bait titles right? “Airsoft Youtuber vs Rentals”, like, seriously do you even see how that title sounds? To me, it just sounds like “I will feel better and like a big man by going against rentals and showing how I can dominate them”. It's actually borderline bullying in my opinion. For example, where I play at Zone 67 there are always rentals, and sometimes there are a good amount of rentals on the field, I don't hunt them for content, or make a video dedicated to it just to make myself look better. To me, the people that make those videos actually come across as real egotistical assholes who love themselves so much they can actually only take on rentals because if they played against people with experience, they'd get owned!

Kill Moontages

I hate seeing these videos. Like yes, we all get kills and sometimes have really good runs and get multiple in one life, which is cool. But then instead of doing a video of that gameday or that event, all the footage is edited down to just be a kill montage of you shooting your way around. Like hold up, why not a hit montage of all the times you got hit too? I've actually been a little tempted to do a hit montage of just me being hit all the time because I don't think I've actually come across one before! 

Videos With Click-Bait Titles

I see this far too often, and will generally just not watch the video. Like one of the ones in the last couple of years I saw was “Airsoft YouTuber vs Pro Milsimers”, the problem with the title was the so called “pro milsimers” we're not pros, while there was some that had a fair bit of experience (mostly players from New Zealand), most of the players came from Australia where airsoft is illegal and they come over to play airsoft once a year and that's it. And using the words professional implies that the 'pros” are getting paid, which they were not. This was even asked in the comments, where someone asked about people getting paid to play airsoft, the poster didn't even know what they meant. Like, pick titles that are more accurate and not just click-bait to get some views.

That is why you'll always see my videos with the location I play, and the game mode that is played rather than some stupid click-bait title that tries to make me sound even better than what I am.
